Finished watching Jake 2.0, episode 2 tonight and I gotta say .. it's okay. I'm not sure if this will be my new show of the season or not. I'll tune in until the show either finds its legs or falls flat on its face.
As a game, DH and I make predictions about every show we watch. Sometimes we tune in to new shows of the year just to make predictions. Sometimes we go just by the ads. Usually the predictions are a guess at how long the show will last.
For Jake 2.0, I remember thinking that the roommate was an oddly superfluous character, but I honestly did not expect him to get written out first. I gave that honor to the unrequited-female-love-interest, who I thought would get written out around episode 8 or 9 in some way tied into her father's adventures in Desert Storm. There is just no chemistry between her and Jake.
Still don't know if that one will happen, but I'm just shocked that roommate was the first to go. There was potential secret-keeping tension there. At least they explained his writing out.
The next new show I'll be giving a first episode to is Joan of Arcadia (5 eps).
The TV season is pretty dry.
