Think.

Pretend real hard.

If we all work on this together, maybe we can roll back the calendar a few days.

..

There.

It worked. The archives were updated today *and* it's August 31st.

That means that all the stories posted in the last couple of weeks are eligible for the awards.

TP Summer Countdown

  • #10 - Faithful and Mad by [livejournal.com profile] sage_theory
  • #11 - The Madman from Zoy by Kytriyah Luebeck

I got my wish for 10 summer stories and bunches of them were OS!

Despite most of my possessions still being in the garage, things are starting to come together here. I landed an adjunct position with the UW-Platteville, so now I'm teaching Freshman Comp.

    Erg.

I never took Freshman Comp. I was a creative writing & linguistics major and my Master's is in Applied Linguistics. I have. No. Idea. What. I'm. Doing.

    Expect rants.

(::vapidly::) Must go make tomato sauce.

If *I* can teach Freshman Comp, you can teach Freshman Comp. They probably have a sample syllabus, steal from that, pace it out so you aren't grading something big more than every 3 weeks, and try to have fun!

They have previously used syllabi which do me no good because they're based on books I'm not allowed to use. I can only use textbooks that no one else is using this semester.

Pacing things so I'm not grading a big project too often is easy. Figuring out what to do with 52 minutes 3 times a week is where I'm getting tripped up.

I hate to say this, but I always found group work helpful. Make them workshop!
