We are in the house. We have telephone, electricity, AIR CONDITIONING!, water, sewer, and an ISP. The paint is on the walls, the carpet is due to arrive at 9:30 tomorrow morning, all our belongings are in the garage, and the long distance service should kick in any day now. We also have a garden that is going nuts and I don't know what half the things in it are. I do know that I'm about to learn real fast how to can tomatoes.

My combination allergies/cold is finally starting to clear up. Yeah to the breathing. Tho I did have a moment today when coffee started to spill out of my nose. Gross, I know. What makes it worse is that there was no reason for it; it's not like I'd been choking or laughing or anything of the sort. I was just sitting around reading mail. At first I thought it was a nosebleed. It wasn't. Kinda figured then that it was time to stop hitting the coffee pot. Clearly I'd reached some saturation point.

I want to write something in the worst way. I am a girl in search of a plot. Something NS TPish. If I'm going to have a story ready for summer '06, better get to getting.

Oh, and (most) people continue to make happy:

TP Summer countdown:
  • #7 - Ghosts of the Past by Elizabeth Stanway
  • #8 - All or Nothing by Shaun Hately (YEAH! He kept his promise!)

    and I see that [livejournal.com profile] darthanne is finally finishing up Murphy's Law. Maybe that will be #9.
  • Mood:: 'cheerful' cheerful

    I recommend going ahead and making, and freezing, tomato sauce, if you have the freezer space. Otherwise get a pressure cooker and a homemaker's cookbook. The modern pressure cookers are safer than the one's you can find in grandma's kitchen.

    You might also take some pictures of what you have and take it to the local master gardener's club. They should be able to identify what's going to come back next year, and what you should pull up.

    Do you need garden tools?

    I bought a weed-fork, trowel, and pruning shears. That's all I need for now. I don't know what I'll need in the spring. Former Owner left us a roto-tiller that scares me. I can just see my foot ending up as mulch with that thing.

    Know anyone who wants hot peppers? There are at least three kinds growing out there and we're not hot pepper people.

    I roto-till all the time. As long as you don't run any races with them, you're fine.

    Hot peppers? Don't know any Texans, they'd be the people I'd pawn them off on. I've been wanting to try growing them, but the conditions aren't right, and I don't have enough liesure time to find out how to prepare them, then do so. Though you could take some tomatoes and some peppers and make fresh salsa to taste.
