Today ends the year of my book records. Ever since high school, I've been keeping track of what books I've read. For reasons lost to the mists of time, the "year" is August 15-August 14. As it happens, DH and I are in a reading competition this year, though we're competing on the solar year since that's the cycle his list is on. (Yes, I do own stock in Barnes & Noble. Why do you ask?)
Perhaps because of that competition, or perhaps just through sheer luck, my grand total for the year is73 74. This is the best number out of the last six years, since I switched from paper to electronic record keeping. The next highest number was in 03-04 (when I did not have a full time job) and managed only 60 books.

But good on you!
There are a few books we share on the list, although not for this year. I've read "Dead to Me" by Anton Strout, "On Writing" by Stephen King, and "Dead to Me" by Anton Strout.
BTW, what did you think of "Dead to Me"?

My actual review is up on my Facebook page somewhere. I thought that it read like a novelized version of an RPG adventure for the Call of Cthulhu game system that had been stripped of its obvious connections to the system for legal reasons, which leaves the author assuming the reader has a lot of background knowledge that she doesn't have. In other words, I would have liked the book if it had been a CoC novelization, but I hated it as a stand alone novel.
What did you think?
