I just got notification from Xmission that their majordomo server (or the server on which majordomo was running?) crashed hard last night.

They are taking this opportunity to stop supporting majordomo and to get all their mailing lists moved over to mailman.

Until this happens, both TPDIS and TPFICT will be down. I hope it won't be more than a few days.

If you know people off-LJ who are on the lists and wondering what's happening, please pass on the info.

ETA: The lists should be back up and running. I initially subscribed the TPFICT people to TPDIS. On realizing the error, I unsubbed everyone and resubbed the right group. This means that some people probably got three or four welcome messages. Do not be alarmed.

There's still much tweaking to do at my end to get the lists running smoothly, however it shouldn't impede usage.
Mood:: 'aggravated' aggravated

My mailbox exploded! I was wondering why I had a few hundred extra messages.

(Actually it didn't explode... I'm exaggerating - but it was a surprise.)

Sorry! That was a stupid mistake on my part. I forgot to click the little "no" button belonging to "copy all subscribe and unsubscribe notices to the admins" before fixing my other error. Yeah, I got hit with 377 un/sub notices also.

You and Beth will rececive copies of all notices from now on, however you can reasonably expect 2 a month, not 377 in one hour. You don't need to do anything with the ones you get. They're just FYI.

That's OK - I know what was going on. It was just a bit amusing when I was checking my mail at uni through a web interface and someone wanted to know when I'd last checked my messages. "Before I left home this morning" caused considerable amusement.
