As of 1:00 am today, I am once again officially out of work. Although I am grateful to have had it, I will not miss the job. My wrists are already thanking me.
One advantage to working in a factory is that we are set for boxes. Now I just have to pack them. ::shudder::
Logged on today and noticed that I have hit the halfway mark towards our new computer. Yeah, I realize that sentence doesn't make much sense. Ya see, we have to get a new computer. The one we're using now is a three year old laptop which is already missing one key, is about to lose several others, and is suffering from meltdown. Literally. The casing is melting. This started last summer. I don't expect the computer to survive the heat this summer.
The goal is to get a new computer without paying for it. I've been doing a lot of those online things where you click on things and accumulate points, then trade those points in for gift certificates. The best is memolink which I am shamelessly pimping here. I have just passed the halfway mark towards my second $100 Best Buy gift certifcate from them. If anyone reading this happens to sign up and use me (ladyslvr@xmission.com) as their reference, I get even more points :) I mean what I said about shameless pimping.
With a new computer, I will (hopefully) be able to do something about the TP 30th Anniversary Dinner video tape that is gathering dust on my endtable. The sound pickup is so bad on this computer that it's painful to even try to watch, much less make copies of.

Erm, I'm less worried about the case...
Ok, that was getting silly.
Tried to do the memolink thing, however the server vomited my ap back up. See what I do for you? :)
A friend of mine from Owen Hall says he used to have a rule about not working in days that began with S. He now has a rule about working days that end in Y.
Re: Erm, I'm less worried about the case...
I wonder why the server vomited your ap? Try it again with one of your other addys. Maybe it just didn't like the earthlink.

Tha'ts right you have a couple of laptops. Well hope they limp along until you can replace them.
Mom debated getting a laptop when her computer started not recognizing the CD-ROM drive. We ended up getting a desktop because she likes the full sized keyboard better.
She now has a far better computer than my main one.
