I'm a grammar fascist. Or apparently a grammar whore.

[take the test] - [by krystaljungle.com]

I don't think much of all these little quizzes and the like, but this one was too tempting to pass up. Especially since it also rated [livejournal.com profile] kellyfaboo as a grammar whore. There's a joke here involving bagels and strawberry preserves, but I won't get into that.

Yesterday was the first day of summer vacation for those of us who are teachers. It was a perfect first day too.

I continue at the factory for who knows how long. Every day could be my last. When I started, there were over a dozen people in the department to which I was assigned. Now it's just me. Everyone else has been layed off or moved.

At least I've finally been trained in something--if not interesting--complicated enough that I can't keep my eye on the clock. I'm not sure I understand the purpose of miniature diplomas. But as long as they keep paying me to make them, I'll keep making them.

I hope to learn enough about the diploma making process to design one for the Galactic Trig school.

Once upon a time, I had a perfectly innocent job listening to people's phone calls. Now I have a perfectly innocent job forging signatures. Someone could get the wrong idea about my resume.

I love those useless, but amusing, quizzes. I mean, come on me, that hard up on grammar. Fah!

You know, when you put it that way your work experience sounds completely nefarious.

Mine just sounds morbid.

Yeah, yeah. I've seen all those its/it's errors in your lj. :)

If you happen to run across any job openings when you're doing the obits, could you let me know please?

Believe it or not it's and its is the bane of the newsroom. Everybody does it, but me. 'Cause I'm not ending up in readme (the newsroom document of shame and glory) when I can just repeatedly open up a dictionary. Bite me, btw.

However the it's its thing does not make sense to me. It is in fact quite perplexing. I mean why don't we just use the apostrophe and let the context sort it out.

Actually, the other month someone died and I thought to myself, "I wonder if her job is going to be available?"

Goulish, no?

::ducks:: Just kidding!
