Gaaked from lots of people:
How to tell when a fanfic is by Wendy . . .
1. It's the first one posted in months or years.
2. Unless it was written for a challenge, it has a plot. And even then, it probably has a plot.
3. Lots of things about the story or in the story happen in threes.
4. "The Nature of Family" is the primary theme.
5. Many of the characters are improbably related to each other. See #4.
6. It's been beta read.
7. Coffee is a main character.
8. There are a lot of in-jokes. But most of them you won't notice unless you're actually in on the joke.
9. It's gen. There may very well be a non-family relationship in the story, but the story doesn't exist for the purpose of promoting that relationship.
10. The story continues to undergo revision, even after it's been posted. Often years after the fact.
