This is not one the challenge ficlets, per se.

kerravonsen did challenge me to write it, over a year ago at the TP Dinner Morning After. It's been started and abandoned a dozen times since. When the ficlet meme started, I couldn't help but think of this one first.

Finally, it's done. At least, the first draft is. Comments, as always, welcomed.
