Stayed up later than usual last night watching "Y Tu Mamá También" which I found at a garage sale a few weeks ago. (We also found a stack of 78s in their original paper wrappers being sold for pennies! I love garage sales.) It kinda blows my mind that I'd find a pristine DVD copy of a Spanish language movie in the middle of lutefisk and lefsa country. How on earth did the original owners come by it? And why get it if one isn't going to watch it? It's not like it has a Norweigan track.
Besides being interested in it just as a movie, I was also curious to see it because the director is supposedly the one who's signed on to direct the third Harry Potter movie. I sincerely hope that this director understands the concept of audience. "Y Tu Mamá" is little more than soft core porn. It had a plot. It was actually a pretty good movie, if a bit sad, but it had a lot of graphic sex scenes. That, I was not expecting. There were also some directorial choices that lent a feeling of creepiness to the movie. If that's part of his style, it could make the intrepretation of the third book pretty dark.
It's been interesting having DH gone for the week. I haven't left the house much except to run an errand or two. Mostly I'm just hanging around, puttering around. I've got a lot of projects I'm trying to finish so that I can things packed. We are going to have one heck of a garage sale before leaving this place. Anyone want a Pentium I, 100 Mhz mini-tower computer? How about two leather chairs from IKEA that don't have bases?
I also started work on the mortgage application yesterday. About the only thing they don't ask for is a DNA sample. I've spent more time on the phone trying to track down values of things than I thought humanly possible. Must get back and finish that up today, tho I'm not sure I have all the information they want.
On a different note, if anyone has Showtime, I'd really like to get a copy of the premiere of "Dead Like Me" which is on tonight.
